When it comes to landscaping, a successful team doesn’t just begin and end with maintenance crews and sales managers. Often, those behind the scenes are the ones who make the biggest waves. Our new Controller, Carter Helton is a perfect example. Not everyone has a knack for digging into data or balancing numbers, but Carter has it all in spades. 

If you've been to our office or given us a call, you've probably already met Teresa, our new receptionist. She's the ideal person to be at the front desk - bubbly, friendly, and always willing to help out with a smile. If she doesn't have the answer, she'll make sure to find it for you!

Every office needs a manager! Lucky for us, we’ve got Beth.

Beth started in February of 2022 as our part-time office manager and brings over twenty years of office experience. She graduated with her business degree from the University of Georgia and boy, she certainly means business! Beth was temporarily employed at T. Lake in the past, so when she was able to come back Tim knew she would hit the ground running (but let her have her morning sip of coffee first 🙂). 

At T. Lake, we value ongoing education within our company and the lawn and landscape industry. Staying open-minded and receptive to new trends and opportunities are key to success. A simple yet impactful way we do this is by attending networking events, shows, and conferences. Many consist of workshops and discussion groups that are led by some of our industry's most successful people.

We’ve had quite a few people ask about the tables that Tim was making out of the tree from his parent's business. We wanted to show you how the first top turned out and share a little bit of inspiration from Tim’s experience.

Welcome to September! The kids are back to school, we'll be flipping burgers on the grill, and of course, welcome a bit of a reprieve from the August heat. Speaking of back to school, we went wayyyyy back in the archives to bring you this first photo. 

This is Wilkes School. A wood and brick schoolhouse that was heated by coal in the winter and cooled by opening the windows the rest of the year. The barren playground was just a set of monkey bars, but that didn't stop Tim and his friends from enjoying it any less. His formal education started here, and while the original building is long gone, the memories have stuck with him for decades.
