Out with the Old and In With The New

Posted by Tim Lake on Sep 6, 2022 5:44:00 PM

Welcome to September! The kids are back to school, we'll be flipping burgers on the grill, and of course, welcome a bit of a reprieve from the August heat. Speaking of back to school, we went wayyyyy back in the archives to bring you this first photo.

This is Wilkes School. A wood and brick schoolhouse that was heated by coal in the winter and cooled by opening the windows the rest of the year. The barren playground was just a set of monkey bars, but that didn't stop Tim and his friends from enjoying it any less. His formal education started here, and while the original building is long gone, the memories have stuck with him for decades.

Promise of Hope is a program dedicated to helping men and women overcome past obstacles, develop improved relationships, and more importantly develop their personal relationship with Jesus Christ.

Posted by Tim Lake on Aug 23, 2022 5:50:00 PM

We all feel the increased cost of groceries lately, and analysts predict prices will continue to grow for the foreseeable future.  One of the significant factors driving this is an incredible rise in fertilizer costs, due to raw material scarcity and rising fuel costs.  In most cases, farmers have to make an economic decision to either reduce fertilization levels or skip an application altogether, resulting in lower yields.  It's a lose-lose proposition, but it doesn't have to be.

Posted by Tim Lake on Jun 14, 2022 10:43:00 AM

While most people install a pool with the intent to spend time in the water, the environment that surrounds the pool is just as important. With professional landscaping design and installation, this space can become a favorite family oasis.

This client called us to take their new pool project to the next level!

Our Landscape Designer Robert Arrington found that the reason the family trusted T. Lake with this project was simple. “They viewed us as a professional company rather than just people who cut grass,” he says.

New at T. Lake: Husqvarna Automowers

Posted by Tim Lake on May 30, 2022 12:34:00 PM

New technological advances never cease to amaze us. One of the best things about technology, however, is that sometimes the more it evolves, the simpler it becomes. That’s what we’re loving about the Husqvarna Automower. You’d think a robotic lawn mower would be complicated, but it only has three parts: the mower, the charging station, and a boundary wire. All play important roles in making robot mowing one of the easiest and safest ways to mow your lawn.

Automowers Aren’t Part of the Future, They’re Here Now

Posted by Tim Lake on Mar 3, 2022 4:24:25 PM

Sometimes it’s hard to be an employee. Occasionally, you just want to take a day off, even when you can’t. There’s the matter of lunch, and ample hydration for those hot summer days. Hot, sticky weather brings out all sorts of flying bugs and insects. Finally, sometimes the most beautiful landscapes can have the most difficult terrain, and that can be a challenge for even the most experienced landscapers on staff.
