In any landscape, sooner or later there comes a time when, well...it’s just time. Time to rip it all out and start over. Whether it’s your grandmother’s half-dead crepe myrtle, the driveway with the lush crop of crabgrass pushing up through the cracks, or that redwood deck that looked so hip in 1988, you kind of just know by looking at it that “the time” has come.

A new systematic approach is being implemented in our Landscape Maintenance Division, and Wayne Chamness is leading the charge.  He joined the team as our Maintenance Operations Manager last June. Since then, Wayne has been busy fostering a group that fits the company culture while developing systems for more efficient maintenance of our client’s properties.

In our Landscape Maintenance division, you might be seeing a new face around the shop.  We’d like to give a warm welcome to Christina Harden, who has joined T. Lake as a Client Manager for our landscape maintenance division. This is a new position here at T. Lake, and we are very excited about the improved level of service we expect her to bring to our landscape maintenance clients.

Not all landscaping careers in Georgia involve mowing turf or designing beautiful outdoor environments. Every landscape company needs to stay on top of its finances—and when it comes to crunching numbers and keeping the books straight, Beth Bozeman is the best around. Beth has been with T. Lake since September 2019 as the company Controller. She’s the one managing the finances of T. Lake. Her duties range from financial analysis to accounts payable, to analysis of budgeted expenses vs. actual expenses.

Unusual weather conditions always pose challenges to maintaining a healthy landscape. But when Mother Nature decides to play hardball by pitching from one extreme to the next, it calls for extra special TLC for Georgia landscapes.

There are many reasons a landscape employee might change companies. They may be seeking better working conditions, benefits, or wages in their new landscaping job. Perhaps they’re looking for a company culture that’s more aligned with their personality or values. Often, it has nothing to do with the company they leave and everything to do with location, scheduling, desire for career change, or availability of transportation.

When it comes to landscaping jobs in Georgia, sometimes good guys just end up moving on for one reason or another. A lot of times it’s out of their control. But for those with the work ethic to succeed the first time around, there’s always a place for them to come back to here at T. Lake. It actually happens a fair amount around here. I guess once you’ve worked for us once, if you’re a good fit it kind of gets in your blood. 

At T. Lake, we always appreciate a hardworking guy, and Jose Perez—better known around here as Opie—is one of our best. 

Ask any landscape contractor, big or small, if they have a safety plan and they’ll inevitably say, “Oh yes, of course we do!” But what does that really mean?

It takes a lot more than landscape expertise to run a successful landscape company. Just ask Kaylie Loftin. Kaylie recently celebrated her 10^th anniversary of working here at T.Lake. For over seven of those years, she has held the indispensable position of Office Manager. In other words, she keeps everyone’s toes to the line to make sure everything happens when and how it’s supposed to.
